I went into this game expecting a generic nsfw game but got so attatched to the characters and story, my only complaint is that ive found it too early and cant play the whole story!!! peak game!!!!!! also the horror aspects were a big shock but seem to be well made, genuinely had me questioning my own thoughts

I was like "yay, freaky lesbian game!", but now i just want put all the girls in my purse and lovingly carry them around as we enjoy the wonders of the earth and the beauty of the stars, because that's what they deserve, everything good in the world.
Shii this is very... how can I put it. Open? I mean it 100% goes through the issues of a girl coming of age, and being a lesbian. Even as a guy that just wanted quick material I ended up forgetting about it. The story and the characters are so nuanced it made me care more about the story than the 18+ part of the game. I gotta say, i am liking this game a lot so far(i’ve just met Rise, and Charity is currently talking about going on a mission because Sensei took a selfie with her while she was sleeping in class lol) The writing is very well done, characters are really likeable, Charity is funny when she starts monologuing and saying some random things lmao. I like her a lot so far and have laughed quite a few times at the things she comes out with. Tsuki so far is my favourite(outside of Charity) she is very cute. I’m looking forward to playing more of ChariKiss, and then trying your other game, Permission To Love

Alright, so i’ll start with the positives and end with the negatives, though I believe both are crucial sentiments shared by many of us playing the game. I’ll try to keep this spoiler-free for anyone who hasn’t finished the game as far as 0.8 yet. I hope my comment doesn’t get deleted for being critical here.
First, the good stuff. It’s a female-protag adult VN and I had a lot of fun playing through most of the story. The main characters all have their quirks, even if they’ve not all been fully fleshed out yet, and the designs are good. I actually appreciate that the game isn’t a sandbox too, I like the linear story format much more because it means more content of a higher quality and a single story. The reveal about Hubert the plant and Charity’s “power” were hilarious and made fun of the genre while also adhering to it coherently which is hard to do.
Now for the bad stuff. The biggest issue has to be that this is an Adult VN, yet there’s essentially no sexual content, only a few scenes of toplessness. This isn’t inherently bad if it’s genuinely going to come, but when a dev is putting out very small updates and then says “Hey guys, i’m actually going to start working on a new game before finishing the current one”, it’s almost confirming one of the two games is gonna be abandoned sooner or later. The other big issue is Mio. The idea could’ve possibly worked, but it was done so unbelievably poorly that it’s broken immersion and completely killed the story. I doubt you’ll do this (hell, you probably won’t even see this comment), but i’d honestly say just redo 0.7-0.8 to either:
1. Remove her entirely
2. Remove the scenes of her in the “real world” (keep her confined to the castle)
3. Give us some clear signs that something is getting screwy with reality and have at least one character recognize it as an audience surrogate. I thought that’s what was gonna happen when Hubert first mentioned it, but no, he just immediately gave in and said “Yeah, that makes sense”.
The way it’s been handled feels like it was written by someone who’s writing the story as they go along with no end goal in sight, which sucks, especially when 0.1-0.6 were so well done. I truly hope this Mio business gets cleared up in 0.9 and that her initial entrance is altered to make a bit more sense. I had to replay that into like four or five times because I was so stumped at how that made it into the game, it was just so poorly done.
In conclusion, I really do like this game and I wouldn’t be ‘busting your chops’ over it if I didn’t care. I’m a female myself, it gets so tiring seeing every game of this genre be dudes and harems, so this was a breath of fresh air and while idk if you’re a dude or not, the story is clearly written with a more feminine mindset. The protag actually thinks in the same way I do, whereas the male protags of other games just feel either too “to the point”, I guess. I genuinely want to see this game thrive, it’s one of the best of the genre, but 0.7-0.8 desperately needs fixing or at the bare minimum some kind of drastic overhaul in 0.9 that explains everything. Again, hoping this doesn’t get deleted, but it seems a lot of comments in this thread from the last few weeks have been deleted, so I dunno. Maybe just bots

Huh, I honestly thought Mio is the magical girl you meet in the story. As she appeared right after her, the memories seem fake to me jumping around with the main character even questioning it. Other character's don't remember her until they meet and there is no physical evidence she actually was there before, but she isn't acting like that is weird but instead is directing attention away from that. One time the main character is even about to question things it glitches and suddenly she no longer is questioning it as had a memory to fill it in. It clearly seems like she is a character who has that ability, and is using it to insert herself close to the main character. The magical girl just met seems like the obvious choice, as perfect way for her to get close to Charity and be a bad influence. The little we have seen so far of her seems like that is the case but it's a bit early to say there.
If this is the case it feels like it's being done pretty well so far, but also a bit early to say from what I can tell from available content. (actually reminds me a bit of a horror story heard a while ago Fleshgait I believe was the name)

If it was just in that “other world” thing then fine, I guess, but you can’t carry that over to the real world, it just doesn’t make any sense and it kills the entire story you’re trying to tell.
Also for anyone wondering whether to try this game, if you want a decent story and some nice characters, go for it. If you’re just here for an AVN ‘gooning’ game, this isn’t the one for you, it doesn’t have any sex scenes or anything like that and 0.8 was the first one to even introduce a kiss. I wouldn’t hold out much hope that things are gonna escalate very far beyond that anytime soon, especially with how short each update is. (You can genuinely click start new game, hold the skip button and reach the end of 0.8 in about 8 minutes).

Spoilers for v8 but did you not notice how Hubert seems to have never heard of her until she walks into the room, then suddenly acts like he's known her all along? Or how the memories section is amended to include scenes we've never seen before? Or the little pop up that says something like "new? character profile added". There's something going on with her, and her introduction seems clearly intended to be jarring . If you want to criticize it as a mystery, that's fine, but I think dismissing it as simply not bothering to introduce a character is frankly wrong.

I even used the concept for a creature in D&D campaign running. So was quite entertained to see that concept being used, especially in Yuri reading of all places.

Playing as an awkward disaster lesbian has never been so fun or entertaining. I forgot this was even supposed to be erotica because I was so invested in these girls and the way they come to life. There's not a single turn I could predict here, especially not when things start to get real serious. One of the best VN's I've ever played.
Now if only I could figure out what song MainMenu2 is so I don't keep calling it the Charikiss Theme!

The FMC is probably one of the best MCs in AVN genre you will see. Not just she has a lot of personality, but she also sells very well the idea of the game, has chemistry with almost all LIs in a charming way and is very cute.
The game isn't only cute slice of life! In recent updates, more lore stuff is happening and it is being presented in all sorts of interesting ways. Which means, if you are here for the cute slice of life, you have it, but if you want something more substancial, you also get it!
The LIs are very varied, and really have different personalities, not just in surface, but also on the actual way they interact with you. So, you are bound to find one to identify yourself with!
This is to say that you really should play Charikiss by VeeBuggsy now. It won't take a lot of time (the game is currently relatively short), which means you can enjoy a quick afternoon or night session with cute yuri, some interesting lore and a FMC that will make you giggle 100%!
I thought I was going to play to a funny/cute eroge yuri game but the last chapter went wild and now I can't wait to know what's next (but also I'm a little scared)

The writing is really funny, but also really good???? I did not expect actual character arcs, it just genuinely astonished me and I can't wait for more. So sad about Ai yelling at Rise, really can't wait to explain everything so everyone can be buddies again!!!!!! Also Mio appearing out of nowhere not having its punchline (which I'm sure will come in due time) in this version just makes it way funnier lol.

I think that whatever it is, it wants to help or get make sure charity cant defend her friends from a cannibalistic magic monster.
